If I could do less than one star, I would. This place is a joke. The leasing office is extremely... incompetent and down right rude. The pest control company named Lady Liberty Pest Control has a team full of rude and unhelpful staff. We chose a unit across from the pool to be able to enjoy it, but every other day the pool looked like a swamp. My partner and I just moved out after only a year of living in this horrid place and have dealt with roaches, rats, and wasps. The maintenance team and pest control company take days if not weeks to respond to issues. We had thousands of dollars in damage and a huge loss of memorabilia due to their lack of a timely response when notified about the rat in our storage closet. Not to mention having to deal with giant sewer roaches that were coming in from the crack in the foundation, while we were being told that we were the problem by not closing all the drains in our unit. Although, the pests could have been coming in from the multiple gaps throughout every window and door in the unit, so I guess I can't blame the crack in the foundation completely. The leasing manager Jeremiah is not helpful either, I have dozens of email records with time and date stamps confirming we did our part by making all the problems known and nothing was fixed or remedied by him, or his team.
THIS PLACE SUCKKKS! It feels like we just escaped hell.

The Worst ****ing apartment complex I've ever been in. Besides the roaches, Wasps, Rats, Bees, Ants, and random bugs. The... leasing staff is the worst by far. They dont respond to emails, texts, phone calls. Everything they do is ****ed up and not in a timely manner. We had a rat in our outdoor closet which ate through all of our belongings. From the second we found damage which was minimal at the time we alerted the Leasing staff. Fast forward 3 months. ALL of our stuff is destroyed. The cockroaches were absolutely absurd. You can expect 6 out of your 7 days there to see a cockroach and have to deal with them. Thats with having doors shut, windows shut, drains plugged, and a ****ing spottless apartment free of any food or water. They do nothing about it. When we found multiple cockroaches crawling all over silverware, plates, in ALL of the drawers in one night. The pest control guy and leasing staff made it seem as if it wasn't a big deal. Lying and saying its "normal". That we were over exaggerating. Absolutely disgusting. Poop, and eggs in all the draws and cabinets. When asked to fix the issue we went 13 months of bickering and half assed fixes and promises. The pool was never working. Maintenance sucked. Our AC went out mid summer. When notifying the office it took a full day and when they did come he half fixed it and wanted to come back tomorrow since the "fan" was working. We have a dog at home which we had to relocate till the AC was fixed. This is hands down the most ****ed off apartment complex I have ever seen in my life. Jeramiah in the office is the biggest lying sack of ****. I cant believe that the "living" standards here are passable to be lied to, and not taken care of. Im so thankful our lease is up. Upon inspection of the ceiling fan, the pull chain looks to have been pulled excessively hard, resulting in the chain switch breaking and needing to be replaced. Because this is beyond normal wear and tear, there is a $25 repair charge for the pull chain. And do the people working out at the pool area have special... privileges to be loud not during those times?
Pool repair crew is out there at 7am talking at full volume, yelling and singing.

How is posible that I call the office a week ago asking why the pool is close and your answer was you don't know ! And now... since Monday we have being waking up with a construction nice and a very inappropriate behavior at 8 am No letter

I live in this comunity since 12 years ago I being upgraded my apartment until I get this apartment that I wait for almost 2 years just to have this location because the pool and now you are takeing the pool away and making a dog park right in-front of my door .
I feel like me and my neighbors around should know about this and about getting all this noise in my case all people in this house we work till 1 am , 2 am in a restaurant and to be waking up like this for 3 day in a row is being imposible to handle.

I have living here for many years I love it but lately I have seeing and hearing , noises at 7 am 8 am , I understand some... works start at that time but as a resident I don't think is a good idea to start making noise before 9 am (office hours) on less is an emergency. I'm writing this today because we live in one of the hottest states in the country. Our air conditioning unit broke within... months of us being here so we had to call in maintenance like any other person and get it fixed. Well, it never truly got "fixed". It began to leak onto the carpet out of nowhere and I mean a lot. After filling many buckets, it eventually stops. Within days though, it completely shuts off and is leaving our pets to fend for themselves. You would expect in a state where it reaches 110° mid day, for the maintenance to fix a broken AC unit immediately regardless of what day or holiday it is. It's simply inhumane to leave us with no air conditioning for 4 days... I'm also wondering how we are being compensated for the amount of bugs that are coming through with these fans they sent us. Mosquitos left and right, yet we pay an exterminator fee for nobody to come out. Simply put, I'm unimpressed with the lack of assistance and excess of fees they love to give us. I just moved to Arizona last week from Missouri and I would have to say maintenance deserves more than 5 stars! I really... appreciate you! My air conditioner was not working and they fixed it! The staff checked on me and felt appreciated. As for parking, I am not a fan of my assigned spot...I am parked next to a pick up truck and it is so difficult for me to park next to them...I asked for a different parking spot and was not able to. This is my second time leasing at Desert Horizon. In between I had been out of state; however upon returning to Arizona,... I chose to lease from another location. After being disappointed with the other location, I came back to Desert Horizon.
I should have come back here immediately. I liked the floor plan of the one bedroom apartments. Even though it is only a few square feet larger it feels twice the size. Bigger kitchen with stainless steel appliances. A walk-in closet. Lots of storage inside and out.

I have helped my mom Marguerite find a new home in apartment living. I can't say enough about the GREAT customer service... from Rogelio Hernandez(AKA-Roger). He has gone above and beyond to help me. My mom hasn't even moved in yet but we are so excited. She will live closer by me and she's very happy with how clean and nice the apartments looked on the outside. We haven't even been inside. Its very good to stay here. Mainatenance is also on time. One issue I noticed is while celaning dust weekly once, all the... dust used to come to our frontdoor. I told couple of times but no action.
Overall staying at desert horizon is superb.
